on a roller coaster

- being in a situation that is impossible to control, because it keeps changing very quickly

If you are not with your loved one all the time, you feel lonely and anxious. Emotionally, it's like being on a roller coaster at the amusement park, but the ride never ends.

nomenclature

- a system for naming things, especially in a particular area of science

The gender handbook explains the suggested nomenclature guidelines.

downright

-(especially of something bad) extremly or very great:

I think the way she was treated is a downright disgrace.

feel something in your bones

- to believe something very strongly

I just know you'll do well in college, I can feel it in my bones.

congested

- too blocked or crowded and causing difficulties

Congested roads and towns have too much traffic and movement is made difficult.

- blocked with some liquid

If you are or your noise is congested, you can not breathe through your nose because it is blocked, usually during an infection.

Call it a day

- If you're ready to call it a day, it means that you want to finish whatever you're doing and usually go home.

We're getting nowhere with this - shall we call it a day and start again tomorrow?

Don't make me laugh!

- This is something you can say when you think something is not going to happen.

- 'don't make me laugh' is a great way to say that you think something won't happen.

A: I heard that Justin Bieber is going to play a gig at our Christmas party!
B: Don't make me laugh - he's far too famous to come here.
